frugal seeds

The title of my blog gives away the fact that I live with at least one chronic illness.  Now, I don’t want to brag, but I actually live with several, and as interesting as it sounds, it is not a whole lot of fun.  Unfortunately I am not the only one in my family who lives with such a burden.  Every person in my immediate family lives with at least one chronic illness.

As a result of all of our medical bills, we have learned to live on a tight budget.  Over the years I have had to learn to be frugal and about 6 months ago I decided to put some of  my frugal ways into a book,  Frugal Seeds: 501 Ways to Make, Save or Stretch a Dollar.  It is now available in both paperback and e-book on Amazon.  The entire book can be read for FREE with an Amazon Kindle Unlimited membership.

You will notice it is written under a pen name.  This has been done as I working on additional books and I am determined to keep the lives of my children private.  Thank you for understanding.

yes…….childlike wonder i still have in my soul

despite the years i have behind me, i still see the would through the eyes of a child

it may seem silly for one of such age to get so excited by a butterfly, a flower, a happy dog with his head out a window, a poem, a sunset, or a friendly comment

but………my heart still skips a beat when i see small tokens of joy present itself

it is as if God is telling me…….i am here……and……i never left……..

in the darkness of night………they flash with passion

their brilliance shining…….lighting up their little part of the world

others looking on with amazement, joy and splendor

I dream of a world where small lights of kindness continually illuminate the darkness

bringing hope and happiness to others

drums

the drums are beating…………i hear them from afar and they draw me in.

as i walk i try to hide myself from its pull

the beats, like my heart, give life to all that is around it

i creep closer……….the drum is under the open sky

i search for people………no one is there,

the drum is beating on its own

calling out to those who need to hear it, it draws us in……….

people begin encircling the drum from all directions- walking out of the darkness

searching for their own beating heart

lying by your side i hear your heartbeat

a sound that means life, represents love, and lets me know you are close

it is a sound i never tire of hearing

the sound that calms me as i lay scared

may it beat louder and stronger as I lay close

as long as your heart beats, mine will too

knowing you are close and I am safe………
