Celebrating the Holy Days on a Budget

“Creating the best memories requires no money.”

~ Charlie Lee Austin

It is that beautiful time of year again when we celebrate Advent, the time we prepare our hearts and minds for the birth of Jesus.

Raising a family of 6 on a budget, I understand the stress that Christmas can create, a time when we feel the need to overdo everything, gifts, parties, meals, decorations…….but all of this costs money and can distract from the real reason of the season.

I have written a book that lists many of the ways my family has celebrated the hoidays while living on a tight budget –  Frugal Seeds 101 Ways to Celebrate the Holiday Season on a Budget.  It can be read FREE with KindleUnlimited and is available on Amazon in e-book and  paperback.

I would be humbled if you would take a moment to check it out, thank you.

~ Wishing all of you a very blessed Advent Season.

living our best life possible – comfort food

“Sometimes a little comfort food can go a long way.”  ~ Benjamin Bratt

As the holidays are fast approaching, the subject of food tends to be pushed to the forefront.  We start to think about or plan what we would like to eat during the holiday celebrations.  Even if we do not celebrate the holidays, the cooler weather, at least here in the North Hemisphere, makes us think about comfort foods.

Being chronically ill, you tend to think a lot about food (or maybe it is just me).  Many of us are on special diets and encouraged to suck down endless supplements and medicines while dreaming of being able to eat a gluten and dairy filled pizza (or maybe that is just me too!)

My question for the week is, what food is your go to when you want to eat something that adds a little cheer to your life?

Thank you for sharing!  Who knows, you may just “find” your new favorite food.

Everyone wants to feel accepted and loved, no matter what his or her circumstances may be.  Every single act of kindness, no matter how small, moves this planet in a positive direction.

May your day bring you a smile.

As we enjoy the beautiful lights this holiday season, let us remember what this time is truly about.  Please take a few moments out of the next month to think about those who are less fortunate and make a plan on how to help.  Small actions on your part can make a huge impact on others’ lives.
