Hello Friends, thank you for stopping by and I hope today finds you doing well.
My question of the week is a lot deeper than any other I have ever asked, but I hope it does not scare you away and keep you from taking a moment to reflect upon your response…………(drum roll please)……….
“What is the meaning of life?”
I realize this is a big one but I also know you will have amazing responses. Thank you again for your visit, it is an honor to share this time with you!
I would like to visit, again, when there are more responses. I want to read people’s answers. ♥️

I did this exercise once with my college writing class. I asked them to state the meaning of life in a very short sentence. My answer was “to love and be loved.”

The meaning of life is …. finding one’s purpose in life and living it. Only then can absolute happiness and contentment be known. And when the purpose is found, that purpose becomes the vehicle for a person to be Master of his or her life. Great question, Wendi!! xo

That is in fact a lovely question Wendi…but only because I finally saw that meaning. The day I truly understand my fear and my so called protective walls that have been blocking so much come down…I could finally see everything. Everything that I had done up to that point had been guiding me. I could not understand and appreciate happiness until I did the same for sadness, and so on through all our emotions. And especially knowing ‘conditional’ love so that I could know and understand ‘unconditional’ love. Our fears block that self love and the day I understood why I realised that this was what ‘unconditional” love was. I had held so many things against myself as in ‘I can’t do, I’m not good enough, I shouldn’t be…etc, etc’, that I had been living all these conditions against myself. And the day I finally understood why I held my fear was the day it lost its power over me…and I could see it all underneath in everything I had done, could see that in fact it all has a great purpose…to show us ‘us’ so that we could understand and finally ‘see’ unconditional by going through those conditions we place on ourselves.
It is like anything we do in life, at first we are awkward, unsure and not very confident in what we do. But as we go through its experience we become better at it, become more confident, and eventually stand tall as a blossoming flower should. But it cannot reach that level unless we do the hard yards first. Love is the same. We spend our lives trying to project an expectation built on fear, but in the end we understand that this very thing is holding that love back. And finally let it go in that understanding.
I will never forget the day it happened, after so many years of emotional struggle (as we all do), I broke down into tears simply because I could see that it did in fact have purpose. The frustration and emotional mayhem could be seen for what it was…guidance…to set myself free, and open something wonderful, a flower of understanding so powerful that it lit a glow within and a smile without, simply because I could now ‘see’ that I had done it. I had found that love and happiness I had always searched for ‘out there’, was in fact gently waiting within for that very discovery.
May your understanding find that very beauty dear lady, it will leave you ‘unconditional’ indeed ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

It not a difficult question at all. You will find the answer in the Book Of Proverbs, as written by King Solomon. He traveled the world far and wide and came up with the answer, which is quite simple: Eat. Drink. And Be Merry.
You come into this life with nothing and that is exactly the way you are going out. Be kind to people.
Help them as best as you can. For you are judged by your deeds not your actions.
I hope this answered that life long question everyone always seems to ask.
Enjoy life. That’s what it is there for.

I believe we derive our deepest meaning of life from our Father Creator, through our Savior, Jesus Christ. He designed us and cares for us; as long as we obey and serve Him, we are blessed with His joy, peace, and contentment. And we get to spent eternity with Him!

Thank you for sharing!!.. the meaning of life lies in one’s heart and is as different as each creature… for me, it is waking up on the green side of the grass of a morning, looking into the sun rising on the horizon and know I have another day to follow my dreams being led by my heart… and I can share those moments with wonderful people like you and proclaim “it is a wonderful world indeed”!!… 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe, all your tomorrows are filled with love and happiness and life is all that you wish for it to be!… 🙂

I think 2020 has forced many of us to ponder on the meaning of life. It is a big question. I have found myself relying more on a higher power and trusting to a wisdom much greater than my own. We live in such anxious times. If Covid has done nothing else, it has forced us all to consider what’s truly important in life. For me, that is family, time together, being kind to others, and really examining what ‘life’ means to me. I have always loved nature and a simple life. I have never been able to travel, finances prevents that, but that’s okay. I have found beauty in each and every place I’ve lived and I have found beauty in most of the people I have known; and even those who were less than kind served to help me learn a lesson or two. Being compassionate, kind, empathetic are all important to me. The saying “you can’t take it with you’ springs to mind. People should always come before things. I think we in the western world have become far too attached to things; to success; to accumulating stuff that never makes us happy. I could go on and on but I think you get my drift.

I think we are meant to help one another. The sunny days, the clouds, the hurricanes, the joy. The hardest thing we have to do is to trust God, and He does not expect us to be perfect. (And I’m afraid I don’t know what I’m talking about.)

Good day Wendi. For me personally, and it took me a long time to get here. Is that the meaning of life for me is that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior , and as it is written, I am to reflect and be an ambassador for Christ, for my life goal of one day living in his eternal kingdom with him. Now, that being said, again it took me a long time to get to this realization. As, I too have many chronic illnesses that have caused me to be permanently disabled. Very good question Wendi and one many people wonder about…Good day blessings to you. 💜

A difficult question for me, Wendi. I don’t think to love and be loved is enough for me. I need to feel as if I make some sort of difference and leave some sort of lasting legacy. I asked my older son the other day [Greg] whether he thought highly intelligent people could ever be truly happy and he said no. Such people are always looking for more in life and so are never satisfied. Could the meaning of life be being truly satisfied with your life?

This is wonderful Roberta and I appreciate you taking time to respond to this question…..I completely agree with you……….loving and being loved is not enough for me but I sure wish that it was. Like you, I have always wanted to make a difference in this world! I agree with your son Greg……..although I am not highly intelligent, I agree with him, we all want more and maybe that is what keeps many of us striving to do better…………Thank you so much for commenting and your ending question is great!

I read this the other day and did not comment until I had time to think about it a bit. How to say this. I am not a religious person in any sense of the word. I have great faith that we are guided and loved unconditionally and know for a fact we are NOT judged. We do the judging of each other and ourselves. We are here to BE LOVE in action and to feel Joy in that action. Fear is an absence of faith and they cannot reside in the same space. If you are in fear, you are not feeling loving. To experience the wonder of life and to encourage loving thoughts and actions is all we need to do for utter and complete joy. Hope this resonates.

This could be a very complex answer, but to keep it simple I would say that t he meaning of life is found in anything that aligns with your most authentic self, which places you into the path of harmony and purpose. I hope that makes sense.
Anything else, becomes a struggle, resistance, friction, a unnatural feeling that results in unhappiness, illness and more.

I LOVE this so much and it makes perfect sense. The longer I live, the more I am understanding how truly important it is to live in harmony with your values and thoughts and you are so right……..anything else just feels completely wrong and such a struggle! Thank YOU for helping me with my journey……it feels good to be on the right path, even if it is just a few baby steps. 🙂

Oh dearest Wendi darling. It always starts with baby steps and the hard part is taking that first step. But then you do, small results become visible. These small improvements fuel you like nothing else and you keep layering on. One piece after another falls into your lap if you are optimistic and when you believe. (Keeping your thoughts positive). And you continue to get better and more good days make their debut. Eventually the scale is tipped and while the bad days don’t go away, they become more manageable and fewer in between. Sending much love your way always. Hugs

Great question – I believe that life is meaningless because meaning implies understanding. Whatever life means. Whatever the why may or may not be. What it is… is beyond our comprehension and always will be. It is therefore beyond meaning. Ergo, it is meaningless. However I believe it is for that reason that we must give it meaning. That’s how you guard against nihilism. That’s how you stop from falling down the rabbit hole. Life is chaotic which is why we must strive to give it order, no matter how trying the circumstances. To live is to suffer which is why we must suffer with purpose. It’s why we must seek to alleviate the suffering in others, however small, it whatever way we can. That’s how we find balance. Great blog. Wishing you well 🙏

In my opinion our lives starts to have meaning , when it doesn’t revolve around ourselves. I always find meaning in making someone else life better, even a little positive change. This is our nature as humanity. We need to be selfless to find meaning:)
