When hatred wins, we all lose.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate:

only love can do that.

― Martin Luther King Jr.

In this world Hate never yet dispelled hate. Only love dispels hate. This is the law,

Ancient and inexhaustible.

– Gautama Buddha

We love because God first loved us. Whoever says, “I love God,” but hates his brother is a
liar. The one who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love the God whom
he has not seen.
– Jesus
The best among you is the one who doesn’t harm others with his tongue and hands.
– Prophet Muhammad

Retaliation is counter-poison and poison breeds more poison. The nectar of Love alone

can destroy the poison of hate.

– Mahatma Gandhi

It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works.

All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get.

– Confucius

Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love.
– Lao Tzu

I believe much trouble would be saved if we opened our hearts more.

– Chief Joseph
Racial prejudice, anti-Semitism, or hatred of anyone with different beliefs has no place in
the human mind or heart.
– Billy Graham

And where love ends, hate begins.

  1. These are brilliant quotes to share, very fitting. Yours, with racism winning and us all losing, is very poignant and powerful. It’s awful to think how pervasive racism still is in this day and age. It should have no part of our world. xx

  2. All of those Quotes so relevant…. The eyes of the world are watching the USA right now… I just completed a group meditation sending Peace into the USA… All it needs is a spark to ignite a fire.. May our sparks of love start a huge glow within every heart… That ignites the fire of Unity..

  4. Oh Wendi, such pain in this world, pain fueling hate, blame, vengeance. Thank you for these powerful statements pointing us to love. I believe every person shall be talking with God about their heart, and perhaps then we will see change.

  5. Weird…I was so sure I’d *liked* your thoughtful post Wendi. And I never know if I’m ‘following’ you or not (happens with a few bloggers). The blog page where the follow button is doesn’t always correspond to that following under the notification bell…

  6. God bless you for this post, Wendi. Truth be told I did have hatred in my heart for those who are inhumanely treating others all for control and greed. Power hungry mongrels who have caused so much sorrow, suffering and needless deaths. I saw how much anger and hatred ate up my energy and prayed OH how I prayed for love to return to my heart. It has, my friend. I am averting my eyes from the evil upon this earth and those perpetrating that evil, and instead have my eyes and MIND rooted in love and beauty. It is LOVE that is the victor. And with love, hatred crumbles. BIG (((HUGS))) for being such a bright light at such a critical time in history. Thank you!! xo

  7. Sending lots of love your way Wendi for you and your family on this beautiful Sunday morning. It hurts my heart to see what has been happening out there in the world. We just all need to stay strong and remember to love our neighbors. God bless you and yours.
