don’t allow your past to have power over you,
haunt your future,
or silence your voice,
instead,
extricate past abusers by throwing their negative words and actions into a heap
sending it out with the rubbish
and allowing the vultures to determine their fate
with the rubbish gone
plant some flowers in its place

This poem is powerful. I love the vivid imagery. I especially liked:
by throwing their negative words and actions into a heap
sending it out with the rubbish
and allowing the vultures to determine their fate
I can almost see the vultures destroying the negative words and actions.

Good post Wendi, Memories come back to haunt us over and over at times we have to let go of them. Face them and accept what happened on both sides. Have to move on.

“haunt your future” That’s a powerful phrase. Gave me chills! I’ve nominated you for The Mystery Blogger Award. I know these things come around; and some don’t participate. It’s my first time, so it’s really just my way of showing several of you my gratitude for your posts– even if I don’t comment much. Thank you. https://gmaauburndesigns.com/2019/05/13/mystery-blogger-award/

This post is amazing. Thanks for sharing it. Sometimes it is very difficult to let go of the past. It is easier said than done for a lot of people including me. A lot of us as humans tend to live in the past and never move on. But I see where youβre coming from. Very nice words.

That is the best place for it, In the Past.. Keep your focus on the Now.. while ever we hang onto what was, the hurts and wounds, it festers inside, releasing it and knowing the past has no hold over you anymore is liberating.. We are only wounding ourselves by keeping those thoughts alive..
I know its difficult especially when wounds run deep, Goodness knows It took me a long while in overcoming the rejection of my mother.. But is all doable.. With patience with ourselves and learning forgiveness. And than to look and also turn it around and being thankful, For each lesson, each heart ache is a learning curve which strengthens us, And without the past we would not be who we are today.. So I now give thanks for the past, while letting it go.. For I am stronger for the experiences.. β€ β€

deepest thank you Sue……………yes, it is so difficult when wounds run deep and wide but letting go is exactly what I am working so hard at accomplishing. living in the moment and letting the rest go. thank you for being such a wonderful teacher.
