a late summer storm
the rain pours down from the gray sky
drenching the soil surrounding me……
yet I stand in the middle of the storm, untouched
no refreshing rain reaches me,
will I ever feel its refreshing quench?

Beautifully expressed, Wendi! With all you go through, this one is for you!
Even though the rain falls, the storm is only for a moment; a season, it shall surely pass. Yes, the sky is gray, and the soil feels forever soaked; drenched from the rain that that wonβt stop falling. Just stand, let your soul be still. The refreshing reign, is the stillness you have within!
Blessings to you!!

I don’t really have a reason why, other than I had never purposefully done it, but. Earlier this year, I went outside during a storm and just stood there trying to look up at the sky….it was surprisingly refreshing. if you do it, don’t stay out long enough to catch a chill

Grace I have done the exact same thing……..I actually love rain and love to stand out and feel the rain hitting my body, it makes me feel alive……..thunder just adds to the excitement. So cool that you have done this too! I knew you were cool. π

I have some kick ass videos of the lightning and thunder rolling in pre storm from a few weeks ago. I don’t know how to explain my attraction to the storms, but it is definitely there!

I so completely understand Grace…….for me it is the sound of the rain and thunder, I find it relaxing, the power of the storm and the feel of the cool rain……..magical.

Wendi, this is deep! I have been in the rain and felt the joy of it hitting my skin and I have been on the other side too. Where it did not matter where I stood it felt as if I could feel a thing…

βοΈ Yes you will feel it. Meanwhile… The sound and smell are both amazingly refreshing as we sit untouched by the drops from above. God sends His kisses π in many ways… by the touch of rain, a perfumed smell and the sound of beauty! God bless you Wendi. Thank you for your sweet words.

What a beautiful poem.. I can take your words in two ways..
The Storm of life is raging all around you, as you stand in the middle of all of the confusion and turmoil.. Yet you stand there untouched, detached,β¦ numb.. For there is also a storm within, that the fires already burn.
You yearn for the for those refreshing rains to heal, quench, and extinguish your pain, so that you may be once again refreshed anew.. Whole, Complete, Healed..
~~~
My sister when she was 34 and with four children found she had breast cancer.. Her world for a time collapsed in around her.. Her eldest then only 17 found she was pregnant, And from that moment on it gave her the impetus to Survive to beat her illness.. She underwent a mastectomy and chemo, and was told the cancer was advanced and her lymph glands infected which were also removed.
At the time this Song came out in the charts.. * Don’t Worry BE Happy*
She would sing it constantly..
Today she is still singing it at 57β¦ π
After ever storm if we look for rainbows we can find them if when we allow the Sun to peep from behind the clouds..
Sending you nothing but Rainbows πππππ
Oh My Goodness Sue………….Yes! You interrupted the poem exactly as it played out in my mind…….I am in awe and thankful that you understood what I was trying to say.
Thank you so very much for sharing your sister’s story, what an amazing person she must be (just like you) and I will keep her triumph in my thoughts as I continue to work hard in my healing journey.
