healthy “food” pick of the week

IMG_1202

At a grocery trip to WalMart this week, I was looking for some unrefined coconut oil.  If you are chronically ill, I am sure you have heard of the health benefits of this oil and you are also aware how expensive it can be.

I was happy to find this 14 oz jar of organic, unrefined coconut oil for $4.62.  I brought it home and tried it the next day and it had a pleasant, light coconut taste, not over powering, which is how I like it.  The only downside I could find to this product is that it is in a plastic jar instead of glass.

Until next time………………YOU are a superhero and superheros must eat healthy!

  1. Love coconut oil, and I buy it constantly.. and yes everything these days is packaged in plastic. Unfortunately for those of us who try to use less plastic.
Somethings are unavoidable in today’s world. But I recycle and try to do the best for our environment.. Which is all we can try to be, Doing the best we can with what we have.

  2. Love coconut oil and stumbled upon it a year ago. I try to use it religiously ever since. I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis and I mich prefer a natural approach and only take the harsh meds when I absolutely have to. I’m in Germany caring for my sick mother right now and it was an adjustment. We recycle everything and luckily a lot of product is still sold in glass. You have to pay a small extra fee which is refunded when you recycle it.

    • please forgive me for taking so long to respond, I am sorry your response went to spam. God bless you for taking care of your mother, especially when you are dealing with a chronic illness yourself. I completely agree with you that I would much rather use natural products instead of man made products. I love to hear that you are able to purchase so many items still in glass, so much healthier than plastic!
